Happy Valentine's Day

I am very happy to return today with a new ANIMAL DOC AM for all of my faithful followers.
What better day to return than on Valentine's Day 2013.  There is so much controversy over this holiday.  Some feel it is overdone.   Others feel it is a  capitalism-created holiday for corporations and the world of business to line their pockets through;expensive dinners and fine wines; gifts of jewelry; greeting cards; flowers; chocolates; etc. etc. etc.

To give you my opinion as Animal Doc AM, I want to share a short story.  A very special friend gave me a sticker a few days ago that she was given to her by an acquaintance..it reads "Kindness Matters!"

The preoccupation with Valentine's Day giving would become a forgotten problem if "Kindness Matters" was the way we treated our loved ones all year long.

The world that we live in is a world full of ego, anxiety, self-centered personalities, and a focus on wealth.  In this continuation of recession in the United States, we have become more unfriendly to each other because of the pressure of economic insecurity.

A man on the radio today stated that Valentine's day is a "rip-off" to make us spend a "bundle" on a girl.  That is a very sad and even more tragic depiction of society.  

This day is coming to a conclusion and celebrations will be many this evening.  Let this night's celebration be the beginning of a year of Valentine Celebrations......"the rip-off" that the man spoke on the radio about is a "rip-off" only if we allow it to become a "rip-off!"  Why not let this evening be the beginning of each one of us committing ourselves to bringing "Kindness" to others.

Stop tonight after your celebrations.......and think of where "Kindness" is missing from your life.
Could it be in the workplace; in your family; in your social world; in your interactions with people who have or are helping you; maybe in the way you are treating other classmates at school; or  is it missing in the way you are acting toward the person whom you love.  

"Kindness" can mean 365 days of Valentine Happiness!
